Orlando Pride Defender Carrie Lawrence Out Indefinitely Following Knee Injury

Defender sustained injury at training camp in Port St. Lucie

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando Pride defender Carrie Lawrence has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in her left knee and will be out indefinitely, the Club announced today. The injury was sustained during the Pride’s training camp at Port St. Lucie, and ultimately confirmed by the Club’s official medical team at Orlando Health.

“It’s unfortunate and we’re saddened for Carrie to be facing an injury like this, but the ownership, staff, and team are fully rallying around her,” Orlando Pride VP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Haley Carter said. “Our goal is to help Carrie get back on the pitch as safely and as quickly as possible, and we’ll be supporting her every step of the way.”

Lawrence is set to undergo surgery at the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, performed by Dr. Craig Mintzer, chief medical officer and head orthopedic surgeon for the Pride.
