OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s placed right-handed pitcher Dany Jiménez on the 15-day injured list retroactive to June 20 with a strained left oblique and selected right-handed pitcher Aaron Brooks from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Brooks joins the A’s for the second time this year. He was selected on May 15 and went 0-2 with a 5.82 ERA in four starts before he was designated for assignment on June 2. The 34-year-old right-hander went 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts with Las Vegas after being outrighted on June 4 and is 2-7 with a 4.30 ERA and .749 opponents OPS in 10 games, including nine starts, overall with the Aviators. Brooks has a .300 opponents batting average at Triple-A but has walked just 11 batters in 52.1 innings.
