NWSL Preview: North Carolina Courage (8-4-2) at Angel City FC (3-6-5)

Angel City forward Claire Emslie helps lead the club in scoring so far this season with three goals, tied with forward Alyssa Thompson, though Emslie has also scored a spot kick. North Carolina forward Tyler Lussi scored her fourth goal of 2023 in North Carolina’s 1-0 win over Houston. It was Lussi’s 11th career game with a goal contribution in league play with her teams winning all 11 of those matches, the best 100-percent record when contributing to a goal of any player in NWSL history. In facing Angel City on Sunday, Lussi faces her former club in Los Angeles for the first time in league play.
