Picking up an assist on J.T. Miller’s first period goal on Nov. 5 vs NSH, Bo Horvat recorded his 200th career assist, become the 22nd Canuck in team history to hit that mark. He also leads the team in goals (10) in 12 games so far this season.
SPECIAL TEAMS SCORER
Scoring his fifth power play goal in his last three games on Nov. 3 vs ANA, Bo Horvat tied Ryan Kesler and Henrik Sedin for 10th most power play goals in franchise history (61), accomplishing the feat in 64 fewer games than Kesler (583 GP vs 647 GP) and 588 fewer games than Henrik (1,171 GP). He also potted his 10th career shorthanded goal (EN), tying Kesler for seventh-most in club history.
HATS OFF TO KUZ
Recording a hat-trick with three goals, including the game-winner, on Nov. 3 vs ANA, Andrei Kuzmenko became just the fourth Russian-born skater in Canucks history to record a hat-trick, joining Pavel Bure (9x), Alexander Mogilny (4x), and Igor Larionov (2x). The winger became the fourth Canucks player in the past 20 years to record three goals in a single frame joining Horvat (Oct. 22/19), Mikael Samuelsson (Mar. 9/10) and Markus Naslund (Oct. 21/02).
FIVE-POINT PETEY
Posting one goal and four assists on Nov. 3 vs ANA, Elias Pettersson recorded his third career five-point game, joining Alexander Mogilny as the only other player in Canucks history to do so. He currently leads the team in assists (10) and points (15) in 11 games so far this season.
SCORING MACHINE
Tallying six goals in his last three games (Oct. 28-Nov.3), Bo Horvat became the third player in franchise history to notch multiple goals in three consecutive games, joining Alexander Mogilny and Petri Skriko. He now ranks tied for second in goals in the NHL this season with Erik Karlsson, only two behind Connor McDavid for first place.
• With 24 goals in 29 games since March 9, 2022, Horvat has the highest goals per game (0.83) in the League during that stretch (minimum 5 GP).
MARTIN’S MAGICAL RUN
Turning aside 26 shots in an 8-5 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Nov. 3, Spencer Martin improved his record with the Canucks to 5-0-4, passing Curt Ridley (6-0-2 in 1975.76) as the only goaltender in franchise history to earn at least a point in each of his first nine starts with the team.
BOUDREAU REACHES 600 WINS
Thanks to Vancouver’s 5-3 win on Oct. 27 at SEA, Canucks Head Coach Bruce Boudreau became the 22nd coach in NHL history and just the fifth active head coach to reach 600 regular season wins with a record of 600-322-127. Among coaches with 600 wins to their name, Boudreau’s 1,049 games coached were the second-fewest required to reach the mark, while his .633 points percentage ranks second only to Scotty Bowman (.657).
ELIAS PETTER-CENT
Netting his third goal of the season on Oct. 18 at CBJ, Elias Pettersson registered his 100th career NHL goal, requiring the second-fewest games in Canucks history to reach the mark among players to debut with the franchise, trailing only Pavel Bure (154 GP).
• The goal also tied Pettersson with Jake Guentzel (PIT) and Brayden Point (TBL) as the ninth-fastest active player to reach 100 career goals. He also is the first player from the 2017 NHL draft class to reach the milestone.

LAST GAME: Nov. 5, 2-1 loss vs. Philadelphia: Giroux registered the 300th goal of his career in his first game against his former team for whom he skated for 15 seasons which stood as the only offence for the home side in a 2-1 defeat at Canadian Tire Centre. It was Ottawa’s fifth consecutive loss, their longest stretch since an additional five-game winless streak from 2/26/22 to 3/6/22. After the former Flyers captain opened the scoring just 2:44 into the game, Philadelphia would follow with consecutive goals from Hayes and MacEwen. Hart earned the win for Philadelphia by way of making 31 saves while Talbot took the loss for Ottawa in turning aside 26 shots. INDIVIDUAL NOTES
COACH SMITH: D.J. Smith was introduced as the Senators’ 14th head coach in franchise history on 5/23/19. A native of Windsor, Ont., Smith spent the four previous NHL seasons as an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Prior to joining the Maple Leafs (which was also the team for which he made his NHL playing debut in 1996-97), Smith guided the Ontario Hockey League’s Oshawa Generals to a record of 135-53-3-13 over three campaigns which included his having been recognized as the OHL’s Coach of the Year in 2013-14. One year later, he helped the team capture the Mastercard Memorial Cup. His 85 head coaching victories with Ottawa see him rank sixth in franchise history.
SECOND SEASON AS CAPTAIN FOR CHUCKY: Two-time NHL All-Star Brady Tkachuk was appointed the 10th captain in Senators franchise history on 11/5/21. A native of St. Louis, Tkachuk succeeded Erik Karlsson who served in the role for four seasons from 2014-15 to 2017-18. The bronze medal winner with Team U.S.A. at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship is the first American-born skater to serve as team captain. Tkachuk is assisted by full-time alternates Thomas Chabot and Claude Giroux.
300 FOR G: Senators forward Claude Giroux became the 213th different skater to reach the 300-goal milestone when he found the back of the net on Saturday. With the goal coming against his former club where 291 of those goals were scored, he has now notched a tally against each of the 32 teams in the league. He became the fourth member of the 2006 draft class to score 300 career goals joining Phil Kessel (400), Jonathan Toews (364) and Brad Marchand (354). The Hearst, Ont. native, who sits second all-time in points for the Flyers franchise (900) currently sits 11th in points among all active skaters (933) and tied for 112th all-time (Steve Thomas), three points behind fellow active skater Joe Pavelski (936) for 111th (as of Nov. 6). He became the third player this season to reach the milestone joining Jeff Skinner (Buffalo) and Logan Couture (San Jose) while Winnipeg’s Blake Wheeler will join the group when he next finds the back of the net.
ALL-TIME LEADERS: Chris Phillips is the Senators’ all-time leader in games played (1,179) … Daniel Alfredsson leads in goals (426), assists (682) and points (1,108) … Following Phillips is Alfredsson (1,178), Chris Neil (1,026), Wade Redden (838), Radek Bonk (689), Jason Spezza (686) and Mike Fisher (675) … Neil leads in penalty minutes (2,522) while Patrick Lalime holds the lead in shutouts (30) and ranks second (283) to Craig Anderson (435) in games played among goaltenders.
