LAST GAME
The Tampa Bay Lightning earned a late point, but dropped a third-straight contest Tuesday night with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center…The Bolts fell to 1-2-1 on the season with a road record of 0-2-1…Zemgus Girgensons opened the scoring at the 8:57 mark of the first period to give BUF the early 1-0 lead…Jeff Skinner doubled the BUF lead with 4:32 remaining in the opening frame to send his team to the first intermission with a 2-0 lead and an 11-7 shot advantage…Brandon Hagel got the Lightning on the board with 2:02 remaining in the second period when, after working on the forecheck with Anthony Cirelli and Tanner Jeannot, he slid into the low slot, got the puck and fired a quick shot over the glove of Devon Levi to make it a 2-1 game… With Tampa Bay beginning to tilt the ice in the third period, they pulled Jonas Johansson for an extra attacker and got the game-tying goal with just seven seconds remaining after Hagel fought for position in front of the net and jammed a loose puck past Levi for his fourth goal in as many games…Following a BUF faceoff win to begin overtime, Dylan Cozens beat Johansson with a shot to the far post 1:46 into the extra frame to send the Lightning back to Tampa with one of six possible points on the three-game road trip…Johansson made 28 saves on 31 shots in his third start with the Bolts…Erik Cernak skated in his 300th career game with Tampa Bay, making him just the 13th defenseman in Lightning franchise history to hit the milestone.
