LAST GAME: April 6, 7-2 loss at Florida: Lyon made 56 saves as the Senators put a season-high 58 shots-on-goal in a 7-2 defeat at FLA Live Arena. The save total marked the second highest in Panthers franchise history. Montour paced the home side with four points (one goal, three assists) to match the team mark for points in a game by a defenceman. Barkov had the game’s lone multi-goal effort while adding one assist for a three-point evening as Forsling (one goal, one assist), Ekblad (two assists), Tkachuk (two assists) and Reinhart (one goal, one assist) also provided multi-point efforts. Cousins and Verhaeghe rounded out the scoring for Florida in a game which saw 166 total penalty minutes as each team established the two highest single game totals this season (Ottawa, 88; Florida, 78). Giroux and Greig replied for the Senators. Meriläinen took the loss for Ottawa in making nine saves in 21:24 of action before being replaced by Sogaard who stopped 14 shots in relief.
