Jack Drury, Brady Skjei and Sebastian Aho each scored for Carolina, with Aho lighting the lamp for the third straight game. Brett Pesce also tallied two assists, and Martin Necas added a helper to extend his assist streak to three games. Frederik Andersen stopped 35 of 38 shots faced in net.

— Carolina is facing Tampa Bay in the third and final meeting between the teams during the 2022-23 season.
— The Hurricanes and Lightning are meeting for the 141st time in their regular-season histories. Carolina holds a 62-56-10-12 overall record, including a 38-23-7-3 home record.
— Carolina leads the season series 2-0-0 in 2022-23 (Tampa Bay: 0-1-1), and the team is one win shy of posting just the second season sweep of the Lightning since relocation (2008-09: 6-0-0).
— The Hurricanes earned a 4-3 shootout win over the Lightning at Amalie Arena on 11/3. Seth Jarvis, Martin Necas and Brady Skjei scored in regulation before Teuvo Teravainen and Sebastian Aho scored in the shootout.
