The Tampa Bay Lightning skated to a fifth-consecutive win Wednesday night with a 5-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena…The five-game winning streak is tied for the longest of Tampa Bay’s season…The Bolts improved to 29-13-1 on the season with a road record of 12-9-0…The Lightning swept the season series with VAN after winning the first meeting 5-4 Jan. 12 at AMALIE Arena…Tampa Bay has won six straight games vs. VAN…The Bolts jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Steven Stamkos scored his 500th career goal at the 4:40 mark off a back door pass from Alex Killorn…The Lightning quickly went up 2-0 when Nikita Kucherov capped off a nice passing play with Brandon Hagel and Brayden Point by firing a one-timer past Spencer Martin for his 18th goal of the season just 3:48 after the milestone goal by Stamkos…Brayden Point gave Tampa Bay a 3-0 lead 4:50 later when he jumped on a rebound in front off a shot from Erik Cernak and buried his team-leading 26th goal of the year…Just 1:17 after Point made it 3-0, Stamkos took another pass from Killorn and beat Martin for a second time to give the Bolts a 4-0 lead with 5:25 remaining in the opening frame…After a scoreless second period, VAN got back-to-back third period goals on the power play from Andrei Kuzmenko and Quinn Hughes at the 6:35 and 9:10 marks to bring the score to 4-2…With the net empty for VAN, Stamkos took a pass from Kucherov and scored his 21st goal of the season to complete the hat trick, marking the first time this season that a Lightning skater has scored three or more goals in a game…Brian Elliott got the start in goal for the Bolts and had a strong showing in his ninth win of the season with 37 saves on 39 shots against.
