THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
• Tonight’s matchup is the second of three games the Kraken will play against the Golden Knights this season and the final time the two teams are playing in Vegas this year.

• Yesterday’s game against the Coyotes and tonight’s game against the Golden Knights is the final of eight back-to-back sets the team will play this season and the fifth of which where both games are played on the road.

• Seattle has an 13-9-2 record against Pacific Division opponents this season and have beaten each of their division rivals at least once.

• A victory against Vegas tonight would give the Kraken consecutive wins against the Golden Knights for the first time in franchise history.

• Oliver Bjorkstrand became the Kraken’s sixth 20-goal scorer this season with a goal in the Kraken’s last game on April 10 at Arizona. It marks the fourth time in his career that he has scorer 20 or more goals in a season. The Kraken’s six 20-goal scorers are tied with Dallas, Ottawa and Pittsburgh for the most in the NHL.

• Justin Schultz has five points (one goal, four assists) in his last five games played.

• Since Feb. 14, the Kraken have gone 65-for-63 on the penalty kill. Their 89.0 percent success rate on the penalty kill during that span is the third-best mark in the league.

• With two games remaining in the regular season, nine Kraken skaters have already set or tied their career highs in goals, assists and points: Will Borgen, Vince Dunn, Morgan Geekie, Adam Larsson, Jared McCann, Jamie Oleksiak, Daniel Sprong, Brandon Tanev and Eeli Tolvanen.

• With the Kraken’s four-goal outing in their game on March 3 against Columbus, they surpassed their goal total from all of last season in 20 fewer games. Seattle has scored 287 goals in 80 games this season compared to 213 goals in 2021-22. The team’s 287 goals this season are the third-most in the NHL.

GOING STREAKING
• The Kraken have won each of their last five games dating back to April 3 vs. Arizona. The team’s five-game win streak is tied with Colorado for the third-longest active streak in the NHL. Only Edmonton (seven) and Boston (six) have longer active winning streaks.

• A win tomorrow would give the Kraken their third winning streak of at least six games this season. The team previously won seven straight games from Nov. 17 to Dec. 1 and then eight straight games from Jan. 1 to 15.

• During the team’s current winning streak, they are outscoring their opponents 28-9 and are averaging 5.6 goals per game.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS LAST GAME RECAP
April 8 – Vegas Golden Knights 1, Dallas Stars 2 SO
The Vegas Golden Knights (49-22-9) suffered a shootout loss to the Dallas Stars (44-21-14), 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at American Airlines Center. Brett Howden scored the only goal of the first period as his breakaway tally gave the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead. Dallas tied the game in the middle frame as Joel Kriviranta beat Jonathan Quick off the wing to level the score. The third period and overtime passed without a score for either side and Roope Hintz potted the game-winner in the shootout for the Stars.

LAST GAME BY THE NUMBERS

  • Howden’s goal was his sixth of the season in his 100th game with Vegas
  • Ben Hutton’s assist on Howden’s goal gives the defenseman his fifth point in six games (1-4—5)
  • The Golden Knights increased their season point total to 107, their highest since the inaugural 2017-18 season (109 points), and clinched home ice for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs

Keeping it One Hundred
Vegas reached 100 points for the second time in franchise history on April 1 after defeating Minnesota at home. This is the first time the club has reached the century mark since its inaugural season in 2017-18, and it was the first team in the Western Conference to hit 100 points this season. The Golden Knights are just two points shy of matching the franchise record for single-season points (109), one win shy of 50 for the second time in franchise history and two wins shy of matching that franchise record (51).

Dancing Knights
For the fifth time in six seasons, the Golden Knights have clinched a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. With Nashville’s loss to Pittsburgh on Mar. 30, Vegas became the first team in the Pacific Division and the Western Conference to have its postseason spot secured.

Home Sweet Home
After collecting a point against the Stars on Saturday, the Golden Knights will have home-ice advantage for the 2023 First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Vegas is 3-2 in series when they have home-ice advantage (excluding the 2020 season).

Rulers of the Realm
The Golden Knights are currently battling for first place in the Pacific Division (3x previously) and Western Conference (1x previously). Vegas leads both the division and conference with 107 points, closely followed by Edmonton (105 points) for the Pacific title.

Clean Sweep(s)
The Golden Knights’ victory at the Xcel Energy Center over the Wild on Monday marked the 10th time this season that the club has swept a regular season series. Vegas’ 10 series sweeps are the most in franchise history, with six being the most previously (2018-19).
