OTTAWA SENATORS NOTES:

LAST GAME: Jan. 12, 5-3 win at Arizona: The Senators received goals from five different skaters to sweep a season-series from Arizona for the first time since 2016-17 with a 5-3 victory in the club’s first career visit to Mullett Arena. Tkachuk scored his first career goal at Arizona (the state of his birth) to open the game’s scoring and saw him equal Havlat for most goals by a Senator within their first five seasons (105). Brassard and DeBrincat would also find the back of the net for Ottawa before Kastelic registered his second career goal against Arizona and first in the Grand Canyon State for the former Phoenix Jr. Coyote. Zub into an empty net also hit the score sheet for the Senators. Giroux (on his 35th birthday) and Sanderson both provided two-assist contests. Guenther, Crouse and Hayton scored for the Coyotes. The win saw head coach Smith become the 150th bench boss in NHL history to reach 100 for his career. Forsberg made 26 saves to earn the win for Ottawa while Vejmelka turned aside 42 of 46 shots in taking the loss for Arizona.

WHAT’S NEXT: Ottawa concludes a three-game road trip against St. Louis on Monday at 8 p.m. ET. The contest will mark the first of two regular-season meetings and the lone matchup at Enterprise Center.
