Kyle Palmieri recorded four points and Brock Nelson scored twice as the New York Islanders defeated the Anaheim Ducks, 6-3, Wednesday night at Honda Center in Anaheim. Adam Pelech and Zach Parise each tallied multi-point games, Hudson Fasching found the back of the net for the sixth time this season, and Ilya Sorokin turned aside 20 of 23 shots faced to help the Islanders sweep their two-game season series against Anaheim.

TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
Tonight, the New York Islanders visit the San Jose Sharks in the second and final matchup between the two clubs this season. The last time these teams met was October 18, 2022, when four Islanders recorded multi-point games, including Noah Dobson, Brock Nelson and Adam Pelech, in a 5-2 Islander win. The Islanders conclude a three-game West Coast road trip tonight, as they face their final Pacific Division opponent of the 2022-23 regular season. They will look to improve to 10-6-0 against Pacific teams tonight.
The Islanders enter tonight’s matchup with points in six of their last eight games (5-2-1) and in their last five straight meetings against San Jose. The last time the Islanders visited SAP Center was February 24, 2022, where they collected a point in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Sharks.
The Islanders improved to 15-15-5 in road contests and 8-4-1 on the back-end of back-to-back games on Wednesday night, as they defeated the Anaheim Ducks, 6-3, at Honda Center. It was the first time the Islanders found the back of the net six times in a single contest since January 3, 2022 in Vancouver. Five Islanders registered multi-point games in the win.

The Pierre Engvall, Brock Nelson, Kyle Palmieri line had a big effort in the Isles’ Wednesday contest, totaling four goals and four assists on the evening. New York took the first meeting between the clubs on the season series, a 5-2 decision on October 18. Oliver Wahlstrom paced the Islanders with two goals in the game with four skaters chipping in multi-point efforts for New York.
