VILARDI PARTY
Gabriel Vilardi scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season Saturday night to give him his second three-game goal streak of the season (3-2=5, Oct, 15 – Oct. 18). Entering tonight, Vilardi’s seven goals is tied for second-most in the league among all skaters and sits two behind Edmonton’s Connor McDavid (9) for the league lead. At 23 years of age, Vilard’s 11 points is tied for most in the league by any player under 23 years old with Ottawa’s Brady Tkachuk (6-5=11) and Carolina’s Martin Necas (5-6=11). Vilardi’s four multi-point games on the season are tied for most among players 23 years or younger and fourth among all skaters.

He scored his fifth goal of the season in his eighth game of the year on Oct. 25, tying his total of five last season set in 25 games. Vilardi surpassed that one game later on Thursday, Oct. 27, with his sixth goal on the year. Vilardi has found the scoresheet seven of the 10 games played he’s played thus far. Additionally, Vilardi has drawn the third-most penalties in the league (7) and his goals-forper-60 minutes of 2.67 (min. GP: 9) places first in the league. Prior to this season, Vilardi had four multi-point games since his debut on Feb. 20, 2020. Vilardi has four points (3-1=4) in the club’s last three games.

Vilardi is also set to appear in his 100th career NHL game tonight in St. Louis, becoming the 32 nd player from the 2017 NHL Draft class, and 11th skater on LA’s active roster, to reach such mark.

400 FOR KEMPE
Forward Adrian Kempe skated in his 400th career NHL game Saturday night against Toronto, becoming the 14th player from the 2014 NHL Draft class and third Swedish-born player in Kings history to reach such mark. Kempe scored his sixth goal of the season, and 96th of his career, Saturday to become the 10th Kings skater in franchise history to record a goal in his 400th career game:

In the Kings season-opener, which moved Quick into sole possession of second place of most games played by an active goaltender with his 713rd career game, stopped 47-of-51 shots. It marked the most by a Kings goaltender in a season-opening game previously set by Rogie Vachon (45 on Oct. 7, 1972 at PIT). Overall, his 47-save performance ranks third-most in a season-opening game in league history behind Tomas Vokoun (52) and Jeff Hackett (48).

FACEOFF FRENZY
Forwards Anze Kopitar and Phillip Danault have found consistency in the face-off circle this season centering the club’s top two lines. On Thursday night against Winnipeg, Danault established a new single-game career-high faceoff winning percentage of 82.4% (14-for17) (min. Faceoffs: 15) for his second consecutive game with a faceoff winning percentage 80% or higher (80%, 12-of-15, Oct. 25 vs. TBL). Both Kopitar and Danault have had success at the dots during even-strength.
