CATS AND DUCKS
The Panthers have won each of their past four matchups against the Ducks dating to Nov. 21, 2019. Aleksander Barkov registered has compiled five points (1-4-5) over Florida’s past four meetings with Anaheim. In their previous visit to Honda Center on March 18, 2022, Spencer Knight stopped all 17 shots he faced for his first NHL shutout in a 3-0 win where Florida out-shot Anaheim 42-17.

CHUCKIE’S CHEESE
Forward Matthew Tkachuk has notched four assists over his past two games, and is averaging one assist per game so far this season (12). He logged three Nov. 3 at SJS, the most single-game assists by a Panthers skater this season. He also logged a career-high 10 shots on goal and skated a career-high 24:42 time on ice. His three-point outing was his second in his past three games (1-2-3 Oct. 29 vs. OTT). Over his past five games, he has amassed 31 shots on goal and eight points (1-7-8). His plus-four rating Oct. 29 vs. OTT along with Aleksander Barkov’s were the highest of any Panthers skaters in 2022-23. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native leads the team in assists (12), points (17), even-strength points (13), shots on goal (63), and multi-point games (5). Tkachuk has recorded a point in 10 of his first 12 games with Florida, including in seven of his first eight road outings. He has totaled 399 points (157-242-399) over 443 games in his NHL career.

BARKOV COUNTY
Panthers Captain Aleksander Barkov notched an assist Nov. 5 at LAK. He scored his second power-play goal of the season Nov. 3 at SJS and won 21 of his 30 faceoffs (70%). The goal marked Barkov’s 64th career power-play tally, behind only Olli Jokinen (65) and Scott Mellanby (66) for the most in franchise history. His 27:15 total time on ice Nov. 3 was his highest since skating 28:18 on Jan. 10, 2019 at EDM. He tallied his first goal of 2022-23 Oct. 29 vs. OTT and added two assists while winning 57% of his faceoffs. His plus-four rating tied with Tkachuk for the highest by a Panthers skater in one game this season. He has registered a win percentage above 50% in 11 of Florida’s 12 games this season. He skated in his 600th NHL game Oct. 19 vs. PHI, becoming the fourth player in franchise history to skate in 600 games with the club.

MONTOUR OF DUTY
Brandon Montour skated a career-high 30:41 total time on ice Nov. 3 at SJS, leading Panthers blueliners with five shots on goal and three blocked shots. He has skated at least 27 minutes in each of Florida’s past six games, surpassing 28 minutes three times. Montour scored his second game-winning goal of the season Oct. 29 vs. OTT and added two assists for his second three-point performance since joining the Panthers (also: 0-3-3 Jan 4, 2022 vs. CGY). Montour has produced a point in three of his past six games (2-3-5) and he has recorded eight points (3-5-8) over 10 games this season to lead Florida blueliners in all scoring categories. Montour scored his team-leading second power-play goal of the season Oct. 27 at PHI in a game where he led all skaters with 27:20 time on ice. His goal came :36 into the third period, the fastest goal to start a period by a Panthers skater in 2022-23. Following games played Nov. 3, his 26:30 average time on ice per game is the highest on Florida this season and ranks second in the NHL behind Drew Doughty (26:38).

MR. CARTER
Forward Carter Verhaeghe recorded his third multi-goal game of the season Nov. 5 at LAK, his second consecutive game with at least two points. He scored the game-tying goal to force overtime at 18:38 of the third period Nov. 3 at SJS and produced an assist. Verhaeghe’s seven goals this season are the most on Florida and have all come at even strength. His four multi-point games in 2022-23 are one shy of Tkachuk for the team lead. Verhaeghe posted his second multi-goal game of the season Oct. 29 vs. OTT and added an assist (2-1-3) to produce at least three points in a regular season game for the first time since logging four (3-1-4) March 27, 2021 at DAL. He scored his first two goals of the season Oct. 19 vs. PHI, when he became the first skater in Panthers history to score multiple goals in consecutive home openers (also 2-0-2 on Oct. 14, 2021). The Toronto, Ontario native’s 11 even-strength points (7-4-11) are second-most on the club.

COL’ ME MAYBE
Forward Colin White scored his third goal of the season Nov. 1 at ARI. He recorded at least one point in each of his first six road outings in 2022-23, which tied Johan Garpenlov (Oct. 5-27, 1996) for the longest road point streak to start a season in franchise history. His seven road points are the second-most on Florida, with all seven coming at even strength. White posted an assist in three consecutive games from Oct. 23-27 (0-3-3), marking the longest assist streak of his career and his third three-game point streak of 2022-23. He has registered at least one point in seven of Florida’s first 10 games. He notched an assist on Ryan Lomberg’s game-winning goal Oct. 23 vs. NYI, and he has produced eight total points (3-5-8) this season, tied for the fourth-most on Florida with all eight points coming at even strength. He produced his first multi-point game with the Panthers Oct. 17 at BOS, logging two points (1-1-2). The Boston, Mass., native’s goal Oct. 15 at BUF marked his 100th NHL point.

WHAT ABOUT BOB?
Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky appeared in his 600th NHL game Nov. 5 at LAK, becoming the 53rd goaltender in league history to reach the mark. His 339 career wins are the most through a goaltender’s first 600 appearances in NHL history. Bobrovsky stopped a season-high 36 shots against and all four he faced in the shootout to earn the win Nov. 3 at SJS. He stopped 21 of 22 TBL shots at even strength on Oct. 21. He earned his first home win of the 2022-23 campaign Oct. 19 vs. PHI stopping 18 of 19 PHI shots in the third period. He stopped 32 of the 33 NYI shots he faced in Florida’s season opener on Oct. 13, including all 27 at even strength and 16 in the first period. Bobrovsky tied for the league lead with a franchise-record 39 wins in 2021-22, including a club-record and league-leading 26 home wins.

LUN DMC
Anton Lundell notched two assists Nov. 3 at SJS for his first multi-point performance of the campaign and won 9 of his 16 faceoffs (56%). His second assist marked his 50th career point. He has produced a point in four of his past seven games (1-4-5). He scored his first goal of the season :39 into the first period Oct. 23 vs. NYI. He also leads Florida forwards with 10 blocked shots. He won nine of his 14 faceoffs (64%) Oct. 17 at BOS, and he notched his first assist of the season Oct. 15 at BUF. Lundell produced 18 goals and 44 points (18-26-44) over his first NHL season in 2021-22, both the fourth-most by a rookie in franchise history.

JUST THE TWO OF GUS
Defenseman Gustav Forsling notched his fifth assist of the season Nov. 5 at LAK, tied for the most among Florida defensemen. He logged a career-high seven shots on goal Nov. 1 at ARI. His 41 total shots this season are the most among Panthers blueliners. He has produced seven points (2-5-7) this season, with all seven coming at even strength. Forsling notched an assist for the fourth consecutive game Oct. 21 vs. TBL, which extended his assist/point streak to four games (1-4-5), tied for the longest point streak of his career. His four-game assist streak was the longest of his career. He registered career highs with 10 goals, 27 assists and 37 points, and nine multi-point games in 2021-22, and his +41 rating was the best in one season in franchise history and tied for the third-highest among NHL skaters.

ET TU, EETU?
Forward Eetu Luostarinen scored his fourth goal of the season Nov. 5 at LAK. Three of his tallies have come on the road, tied for the most road goals on Florida. He has registered seven points (4-3-7) over 12 games in 2022-23. He scored a goal in consecutive games from Oct. 23-35, tied for the longest goal streak of his career. All seven of his points have come at even strength. His four goals are the third-most by a Panthers skater this season, and he has produced at least one point in six of the Panthers first 12 contests. He matched his career high with two points (1-1-2) Oct. 23 vs. NYI, his first multi-point game of the season and his fifth with Florida. He led Florida with a plus-three rating in the game, and his plus-eight mark this season is the most among Panthers forwards.

OH WHAT A KNIGHT
Goaltender Spencer Knight won each of his first three appearances to start this season. He posted a .920 save percentage to earn his 25th career win in his 38th appearance Oct. 23 vs. NYI. Only four active goaltenders had reached the 25-win mark in fewer appearances: Frederik Andersen (33 GP), Jordan Binnington (35 GP), Matt Murray (36 GP) and Anton Khudobin (36 GP). It also marked the third-fewest appearances to reach the 25-win mark by an American-born goaltender in NHL history, behind Frank Bimsek (34 GP w/ BOS in 1938-39) and Jim Carey (37 GP w/ WSH from 1994-94 – 1995-96). Last season, Knight posted a 19-9-3 record with two shutouts. His 19 wins set a franchise record for wins by a rookie goaltender, and he joined Roberto Luongo as the only two rookie goaltenders in club history to record multiple shutouts.

BENNY AND THE CATS
Forward Sam Bennett notched an assist Nov. 1 at ARI. He leads Florida forwards with 29 hits, and he has logged the second-most shots on goal on the club with 42. He posted two assists Oct. 19 vs. PHI for his second consecutive multi-point game. He registered his first two points (1-1-2) of the season Oct. 17 at BOS. Bennett set career highs in goals (28), assists (21), points (49), power-play goals (5), and game-winning goals (7) in 2021-22, and led the team with a career-high 241 shots on goal.

‘HART OF GOLD
Forward Sam Reinhart recorded an assist Nov. 5 at LAK. He scored the game-deciding goal in the shootout against James Reimer Nov. 3 at SJS. He produced an assist Oct. 27 at PHI on Brandon Montour’s power-play tally. Last season, Reinhart led Florida with 16 power-play goals and ranked second with 31 power-play points. He finished 2021-22 with career highs in goals (33), assists (49) and points (82). His 82 points were the most by any player in their first season with Florida, while his 16 power-play goals led the team. Reinhart was the fifth player in franchise history to reach 80 points in a season.

THE BUTCHER
Defenseman Radko Gudas scored his first goal of the season Nov. 3 at SJS while logging six hits, the most of any skater in the game. He logged a personal season-high six shots on goal Oct. 29 vs. OTT. Gudas recorded his third assist of 2022-23 Oct. 27 at PHI and led Florida with six hits and three blocked shots while logging five shots on goal. His 39 hits are the most on the Panthers this season. He skated 25:11 time on ice Oct. 21 vs. TBL, his highest TOI since skating 25:23 Nov. 28, 2015 at NYR. He registered his second assist of the season Oct. 19 vs. PHI, and tied for the team lead in plus-minus in the game with a plus-three rating. Gudas notched an assist and led all Florida skaters with five hits in Florida’s season opener Oct. 13 at NYI.

GOTTA GO TO MO’
Paul Maurice began his 25th season as an NHL head coach with a victory Oct. 13 at NYI. Maurice was named head coach of the Panthers on June 22, 2022. Maurice has coached 1,696 games, which ranks as the fourth-most in League history. His 781 victories as an NHL head coach are the seventh-most all time, and he is one of three coaches to earn at least 300 wins with two different franchises.

ANAHEIM DUCKS NOTES;

NOV. 5, 2022 – ANAHEIM 5 @ SAN JOSE 4 SO
The Ducks overcame a 4-2 third period deficit to earn a 5-4 shootout win Saturday night over the Sharks at SAP Center. Anaheim’s league-high third multi-goal comeback win of the season marked the second time in franchise history the club has come back from a multi-goal deficit in the final 5:00 of regulation in the regular season (also Dec. 7, 2016 vs. CAR). Anthony Stolarz made a career high 48 saves in regulation and OT, surpassing his prior best of 46 in a shutout win Apr. 12, 2021 @ SJS. Stolarz improved to a perfect 7-0-0 vs. San Jos as a Duck. Adam Henrique tied the game with 1:28 remaining, his third goal in as many games (3-0=3), and scored the game-deciding goal in the shootout. Brett Leason scored his first goal as a Duck and earned an assist (1-1=2) for his first two points oF the season. Trevor Zegras earned two assists (0-2=2), pushing his point streak to a career-tying four games (3-4=7), his fourth career four-game point streak (last: Apr. 24-29, 2022; 2-2=4). Max Comtois scored for the third straight game, tying a career high goal streak also set Apr. 24-29, 2022 (3-1=4). Troy Terry pushed his team lead in points and assists to 5-11=16, while also extending his point/assist streak to four games (1-6=7). Mason McTavish scored his first goal of the season and added an assist for his second career multi-point effort (1-1=2) and points in consecutive games (1-2=3). John Klingberg tallied an assist for the third straight game (0-4=4) while Dmitry Kulikov also earned an assist.

ANAHEIM DUCKS NOTES
TONIGHT’S GAME: The Anaheim Ducks begin a four-game homestand tonight vs. the Florida Panthers at Honda Center (6 p.m. PT, TV: Bally Sports SoCal, AUDIO: Ducks Stream). The Ducks enter tonight’s game with wins in three of the last four games (3-1-0) and 18 goals during that stretch. Anaheim owns an all-time record of 1,025-878-302, including 576-379-145 at home and 449-499-156 away from Orange County. Anaheim continues a 14-game November schedule with seven home and seven road contests (2-1-0 in the month to date). Anaheim enters tonight’s game with the fewest home contests (3). Tonight closes the second of 11 back-to-back matchups for Anaheim in 2022-23, with the club 1-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the second contest to date. Gibson stopped his eighth career penalty shot (10th attempt) against Alexander Kerfoot Oct. 30 vs. TOR. He has stopped an NHL-leading six penalty shots since the start of 2020-21, with two goalies tied with three penalty shot saves (Connor Hellebuyck, WPG & Frederik Andersen, CAR/TOR).

STOLIE SAVES: Anthony Stolarz has won back-to-back starts, both at San Jose, stopping a combined 96 shots in the victories. He set a career high 48 saves Nov. 5 @ SJS, surpassing his prior high of 46 in a shutout win Apr. 12, 2021 @ SJS. Stolarz has stopped 40-or-more shots in each of his three starts, including Nov. 5 @ SJS (48), Nov. 1 @ SJS (44) and Oct. 18 @ NJD (41).

M(A)C ATTACK: Rookie center Mason McTavish has picked up 1-6=7 points, ranking tied for second among Ducks leaders in assists this season (also John Klingberg). Among NHL rookies, McTavish ranks tied for second in points (7) and primary assists (3), and tied for fourth in assists, while his 54.2 FOW% is third among league newcomers (min. 20 attempts). McTavish scored his first goal of 2022-23 last night, Nov. 5 @ SJS (1-1=2), as part of his second career multi-point game (also Oct. 13, 2021 vs. WPG; 1-1=2).

FEATURING FOWLER: Defenseman Cam Fowler leads Anaheim in TOI/game (24:27) and SH TOI/game (3:14), while he has led the club in TOI in nine of the 12 contests to date. His 27.6 shifts per game also pace the club. In 2021-22, Fowler led Anaheim in TOI/game (24:25) while he led the Ducks in shifts per game the last two seasons: 2021-22 (27.4) and 2020-21 (27.3).

KULI’S KORNER: Defenseman Dmitry Kulikov earned his second assist as a Duck, Oct. 26 vs. TBL, marking his 200th career NHL point (42-158=200). He also scored his first goal as a Duck Oct. 30 vs. TOR, the game-tying goal in a 4-3 OT win. Of Kulikov’s 202 career points, 1-3=4 have come with Anaheim, 24 with MIN (7-17=24 in 80 GP in 2021-22), two with EDM (0-2=2 in 10 GP in 2020-21), two with NJD (0-2=2 in 38 GP in 2020-21), 27 with WPG (5-22=27 in 2017-20), five with BUF (2-3=5 in 2016-17), and 138 with FLA (28-110=138 in 2009-16). Kulikov currently leads Anaheim in blocked shots (25) and is fourth among club leaders in hits (18).

DUCKS-PANTHERS: Anaheim and Florida open a two-game season series tonight at Honda Center. The Ducks and Panthers have split the past 10 games in Orange County, with Anaheim posting a 5-5-0 record. In the 2021-22 season series, the Panthers earned a 3-0 win in Anaheim (Mar. 18) and a 3-2 OT win at FLA Live Arena (Apr. 12), when John Gibson made a club record 52 saves, surpassing the prior mark of 51 set four previous times, including his prior career best of 51 (Jan. 1, 2017 vs. PHI).
