The Panthers wrapped up their season-long, seven-game homestand with yet another multi-goal, third-period comeback win March 18 vs. NJD. The Cats have overcome a two-goal, third-period deficit to either win or force overtime in three of their past four games. Florida owns a 5-1-1 record through seven games in March and are currently on a season-long six-game point streak (5-0-1). Over the course of the streak (since March 4), the Cats have outscored their opponents 27-17 while outshooting them by an average of 41.7-28.5. From March 4-18, Matthew Tkachuk led all NHL skaters with a 2.17 points-per-game average, logging a team-high 13 points (4-9-13) over the six games. Five different Panthers (Tkachuk, Aleksander Barkov, Brandon Montour, Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Reinhart) are all producing at least a point per game since March 4, while 17 total Cats skater have logged at least one point.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Tonight’s game against Detroit will represent the Panthers first game outside the state of Florida since visiting Nashville on Feb. 18. The Cats have earned at least one point in four of their past six road contests (3-2-1), with Carter Verhaeghe and Matthew Tkachuk leading the Cats with six road points each over that span. Sergei Bobrovsky owns a 3-1-0 record over his past four road contests since Feb. 13, owning a .938 even-strength save percentage on the road over that span.
