McDavid set an Oilers franchise record, scoring his 3rd career penalty shot goal and improved to 3/7 career on penalty shots. HOT IN FLORIDA
Derek Ryan extended his point streak to two games, notching an assist against the Panthers on Nov. 20 and now has three points (2G, 1A) in his last two games.
PICKARD IN THE PIPES
Calvin Pickard stopped 26/31 shots on Nov. 20 at FLA, making his first start as a member of the Oilers. He has appeared in four games with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors this season, posting a .939 save percentage. He has now played 117 career NHL games.

KANE NATURAL HAT TRICK
Evander Kane is the sixth player in NHL history to complete a Natural Hat Trick in overtime. He is also the 2nd player in Oilers history to score a Hat Trick goal in Overtime, joining Kelly Buchberger who did so on Jan. 31, 1993 vs. Buffalo. Evander Kane now has nine career hat tricks. Six of them have come as a member of the Oilers.
MCDAVID OPENING MARKERS
McDavid scored his 47th career game opening goal on Nov. 15 vs. SEA, surpassing Wayne Gretzky for sole possession of the 4th most in Oilers history.
MULTI-POINT MCDAVID
Connor McDavid recorded his 264th career multi-point game on Nov. 20 at FLA and moved into a tie with Nicklas Backstrom and John Tavares (both w/264 GP) for 7th most among active players.
FOUR OF A KIND
On Nov. 13 vs. NYI, Leon Draisaitl recorded his 24th career four-point game, passing Paul Coffey for sole possession of sixth most in Oilers history. Wayne Gretzky paces the list with 158.
HATS OFF
On Nov. 11 at SEA, Zach Hyman recorded a hat trick in the first period and became the fourth Oilers player in the past decade to record a natural hat trick, joining Connor McDavid (2x: Feb. 20, 2021 vs. CGY & Oct. 4, 2017 vs. CGY), James Neal (Oct. 8, 2019 at NYI) and Milan Lucic (April 6, 2017 at SJS).
GOALS BY PERIOD
The Oilers recorded two goals in the 1st period last game, giving them 24 1st period goals on the season, which ranks T-2nd in the NHL. In 2022-23, the Oilers ranked 1st in the NHL in goals for in the first period (92) and the second period (128).
KING OF THE POWER PLAY
Leon Draisaitl scored twice on the power play on Oct. 17 at NSH and now sits at 128 career power play goals. His 127th power play goal in the 1st period against Nashville, moved him into sole possession of 1st in power play goals in Oilers franchise history. The Hurricanes earned a 4-2 win against PIT on Saturday after trailing 1-0 through 20 minutes, improving to 5-5-0 this season when allowing the first goal. Only COL (6), DAL (6) and NJD (6) have posted more wins after trailing first. Carolina’s six comeback wins are now tied for the sixth-most of any NHL team in 2023-24, behind only COL (7), DAL (7), FLA (7), NJD (7) and TOR (7). The Hurricanes also outscored the Penguins 3-1 in the third period on Saturday, and their +9 goal differential in the third period is the second-highest of any NHL team in 2023-24 (COL: +13). Three of Carolina’s six comeback wins have included a third-period deficit, tied for the fourth-most such wins of any team (ANA: 6, NYR: 4, TOR: 4).
HOME SWEET HOME
With their win over the Penguins on Saturday, the Hurricanes improved to 5-0-1 at PNC Arena in 2023-24. Carolina is facing Edmonton in the third game of a five-game homestand, as the team is slated to play more home games over this 12-day span (11/15-11/26) than in the opening month of the regular season (10/11-11/14: 4 GP). The Hurricanes’ six games played on home ice are tied with CHI and NYR for the fewest of any team this season. They have earned an 82-22-12 record at home since 2020-21, and their .759 home points percentage leads the NHL over that span.
