APRIL 2, 2023 – ANAHEIM 4 @ CALGARY 5
The Ducks closed a three-game road trip and the second game of a back-to-back with a 5-4 loss to the Calgary Flames Sunday night at Scotiabank Saddledome. Frank Vatrano recorded his seventh career three-point game (second as a Duck) and matched his season high with 2-1=3 points (also Jan. 26 @ COL (3-0=3). Vatrano matched his single-season career-high in points (20-19=39) and set a new career-high in assists. His second goal, his 20th of the season, gave him his second career 20-goal season and first since a career-high 24 in 2018-19 with Florida. Trevor Zegras tallied his team-leading 38th assist, giving him back-to-back 60-point seasons (22-38=60), the first Ducks player to do so since Ryan Getzlaf (five straight seasons, 2013-14 to 2017-18). He is the second Ducks player to reach the 60-point mark multiple times before age 23, joining Paul Kariya (50-58=108 in 1995-96 and 44-55=99 in 1996-97). Cam Fowler set a new single-season career-high in assists with his 34th of the season, surpassing his 33 last season. Sam Carrick earned his third and fourth assists of the season (0-2=2), his third career multi-point and second career multi-assist effort. Kevin Shattenkirk also picked up two assists, his fourth multi-point game of 2022-23. Max Comtois scored his ninth goal and earned his 10th assist, giving him three multi-point efforts this season and 4-5=9 points his last 14 games. Scott Harrington extended his single-season career-high in goals with his fourth of the season and third as a Duck. Lukas Dostal stopped 36 shots, his 10th game this season with 35-plus saves.
