LAST GAME: Oct. 18, 6-1 win vs Washington: After appearing in only eight regular-season games in 2022-23 and missing the first three games of this season, Norris made a triumphant return to the lineup in scoring twice to pace the Senators to a 6-1 win over Washington at Canadian Tire Centre. Norris scored once on the powerplay before tallying the eventual game winning marker early in the middle stanza while Giroux, Sanderson, Tarasenko and Zub also scored for Ottawa. Stützle contributed a game-high three points with three assists. Carlson’s first goal of the season was the lone reply for the Capitals. Forsberg made 23 saves to earn the win in goal for the Senators while Kuemper also turned aside 23 shots but in a losing effort for the visitors.
