OTTAWA SENATORS NOTES:
LAST GAME: Feb. 25, 5-2 win at Montreal: The Senators scored four unanswered goals across the final two periods to emerge with a 5-2 victory at Bell Centre and sweep the season series from Montreal. The win marked the first time in franchise history the club recorded a victory in each of its games against the Canadiens in a season. Brassard opened the scoring for the visitors before Matheson and Suzuki posted the home side to a 2-1 lead by 8:46 of the middle stanza. Pinto managed to draw the score even at 13:51 of the second period before Watson, Batherson and Gauthier (with his first in a Senators uniform) all found the back of the net in the third period to provide the evening’s final score. Holden recorded two assists for the second time against Montreal this season. Sogaard (who became the 17th goaltender in franchise history to record a point when he earned an assist on Batherson’s goal) registered the win in making 29 saves while Montembeault turned aside 17 shots to take the loss for Montreal.
