LAST GAME: Oct. 22, 6-2 win vs. Arizona: The second of his two goals in the contest saw Tkachuk reach the 200-point milestone while his first tally stood as the eventual game-winner in a 6-2 Ottawa victory at Canadian Tire Centre. The win saw Ottawa improve to 3-0-0 at home for the first time since the 2016-17 season. Pinto opened the scoring for the home side, becoming the third player in franchise history to post a four-game goal streak at 21 years old or younger. Norris, Kastelic and Motte also found the back of the net for the Senators as the team scored at least five goals in a third straight contest. Guenther (with his first career NHL goal) and Keller replied with goals for Arizona who had won seven of the previous eight contests against the Senators. Forsberg made 20 saves to earn the win for Ottawa while Vejmelka turned aside 26 shots in taking the loss for Arizona. The Stars extended their season-opening point streak to five games (4-0-1, 9 points) following a 5-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Saturday. Led by forward Joe Pavelski’s sixth career regular-season hat trick (his first with Dallas) and a 32-save performance from goaltender Jake Oettinger (4-0-0), the Stars tied a season high for goals in a game (5; also Oct. 15 vs. NSH). Forward Jason Robertson (1-1—2) and defenseman Esa Lindell (1-0—1) also found the back of the net, while captain Jamie Benn (0-2—2) posted a multi-point performance for his first points of the season. Forward Roope Hintz (0-2—2) picked up his second multi-point game of the season and defenseman Nils Lundkvist (0-1—1) tallied an assist to give him points (0-2—2) in two consecutive contests.

TONIGHT’S GAME: The Stars play the penultimate contest of their four-game road trip against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre (6 p.m. CT, TV: Bally Sports Southwest, Radio: The Ticket 96.7-FM/1310-AM). This is the first of two scheduled meetings between the Stars and Senators, and the lone visit to Canadien Tire Centre during the regular season. It also opens the club’s first of 10 back-to-backs this season. The Stars are 23-14-5 all-time vs. Ottawa, including a 10-6-4 mark on the road.
