THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
• Tonight’s matchup is the first of two games Seattle will play against Columbus this season. The two teams will next meet on March 3 in Columbus. The Kraken are looking for their first-ever win against the Blue Jackets.

• Yesterday’s game against the Flames and tonight’s game against the Blue Jackets is the Kraken’s fourth back-to-back set this season. The team will play in eight total back-to-back sets this year, and this is the only one of which both teams will be at home. The Kraken have a 2-1-0 record in the second game of a back-to-back set this season.

• The Kraken have not allowed a power-play goal for six consecutive games, going a perfect 15-for-15 during that span. If they were to remain perfect on the penalty kill tonight, it would set a franchise record for consecutive games without allowing a powerplay goal. As of 10:50 p.m. PT on Jan. 27, the Kraken were one of two teams (Washington) to remain perfect on the penalty kill since Jan. 16, the start of the Kraken’s streak.

• With 48 games played, the Kraken have already surpassed their win (27) and point (60) totals from last season.

• Since the start of the New Year, the Kraken are leading the league in wins (10, tied), points (21), goals (57) and goals per game (4.07). They are one of only two teams (Edmonton) to be averaging four or more goals per game in 2023.

• Despite only playing in 47 games this season, the Kraken are the first team to have scored at least eight goals in a game four different times since the Pittsburgh Penguins also has four eight-goal games in 2011-12.

SILENCING THE CANNONS
• Ryan Donato has six points (two goals, four assists) in five career games against the Blue Jackets.

• Jordan Eberle has three assists in his last three games against Columbus.

• Yanni Gourde has five assists in his last three games against the Blue Jackets.
