LAST GAME RECAP – VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 3, PHILADELPHIA FLYERS 2

Paul Cotter and Shea Theodore scored late third-period goals to lift the Vegas Golden Knights (7-0-0) to a 3-2 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers (3-2-1) on Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena. The Golden  Knights extended their season-opening win streak to seven games. Ivan Barbashev cashed in on a rebound in front of Carter Hart at 6:54 of the first period to give Vegas a 1-0 lead. The Flyers answered with goals from Noah Cates and Cam Atkinson late in the frame as Philadelphia carried a 2-1 edge into the middle period. After a scoreless second period, Cotter walked around Egor Zamula to wire a shot over Hart’s shoulder and in for the game-tying goal. With 32.5 seconds remaining, Theodore sifted a wrist shot through traffic and into the net for the game-winner as the Golden Knights came back for the 3-2 win.

AGAINST THE BLACKHAWKS

The Vegas Golden Knights will face the Chicago Blackhawks for the second time in a week this afternoon at T-Mobile Arena. The last time these teams met, Vegas defeated Chicago, 5-3, at the United Center. After a back and forth first and second period, the Golden Knights’ offense exploded in the third period with a goal just 15 seconds into the frame by Nicolas Roy. Vegas captain Mark Stone added to the score for his first tally of the season. With less than five minutes remaining in regulation, Paul Cotter notched his first goal of the season, extending Vegas’ lead to 5-2. Chicago’s Corey Perry scored with 15 seconds remaining in regulation, but the Golden Knights held on for the 5-3 win.
