Pesce also joined Brent Burns as the second Hurricanes player to score an overtime winner in 2022-23, as Carolina became the second NHL team to have multiple blueliners score an overtime goal this season (also WPG: Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk). He has now scored the game-winning goal in back-to-back contests (also 11/26 vs. CGY), becoming the fourth defensemen in franchise history to accomplish the feat (Joe Corvo: 3/7/09-3/9/09, 12/16/08- 12/18/08; Jay Harrison: 1/12/12-1/14/12; Ron Hainsey: 10/27/15-10/29/15). Pesce also tallied an assist on Tuesday for his first multipoint game of the season, and he has extended his point streak to three games (11/25-11/29: 2g, 2a), one game shy of tying his career-long point streak (1/31/21-2/7/21: 1g, 4a in 4 GP).
