This is a Pacific Division versus Atlantic Division Matchup; The Flames have an overall record of 0-3-0 against Atlantic Division opponents this season and a record of 2-4-2 against Eastern Conference opponents.
HOMECOMING:
This will be the first time Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar will return to Florida and play the Panthers since the blockbuster trade that brought them both to Calgary this summer. Huberdeau was the third overall pick by Florida back in 2011 and Weegar was drafted in 2013 by the Panthers. Both players spent the duration of their NHL careers in Florida prior to this season.
HUBERDEAU’S LEGACY:
Jonathan Huberdeau tops the Florida Panthers all-time games played chart at 671. In those 671 games as a Panther he has a franchise-leading 613 points and leads the Panthers in assists (415) and has the second most goals in franchise history (198). Over those past three games Lindholm has six points (3G, 3A) and has recorded points in six of his last seven contests. He also recorded his ninth power play point, good enough for second most on the Flames, only trailing Nazem Kadri.
SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS:
The Flames have averaged 39 shots per-game while on the road so far this season which is second most in the NHL and they are one of only five teams to average over 35 shots away from home. ROAD TRIP:
This is the Flames longest road trip of the season with the club playing six games in 10 days. The team started in Tampa on Thursday and after their contest against Florida the Flames head to Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, before finishing up with a back-to-back against Washington and Carolina in a pair of matinee games.
SUCCESS IN SUNRISE:
Over the Flames last five trips to the FLA Live Arena they have a record of 3-1-1 and have gone 9-3-2-2 all time in Sunrise. They have outscored the Panthers 45-40 in their 16 contests at FLA Live. The Flames have a winning-percentage of .688 at FLA Live Arena, which is their best winning percentage in any arena they travel to.
