Jersey’s team allowed the first goal of the game in all six games this season.

After Wednesday’s 6-5 loss to Washington, New Jersey was outshot 25-22, and the 22 shots on goal marked the fewest amount of shots that the team recorded in a game this season. Prior to tonight’s loss, the team’s fewest shots in a game was 27, which was recorded in a 4-3 win vs Detroit on Oct. 12 (27 SOG).

New Jersey recorded two shots on goal in the first period on Wednesday vs Washington, which marked the fewest amount that the team recorded in a period this season.

The last time that the team recorded two shots on goal in a single period was Jan. 22, 2023, vs Pittsburgh (2nd period) in a 2-1 overtime win at the Rock.

Prior to Wednesday’s game, the fewest shots on goal that the team recorded in a period was 6, which were logged in both the first and third period vs Detroit on Oct. 12 (4-3 win).

Jersey’s team allowed three goals in the first period on Wednesday vs Washington, which also marked the most that the team surrendered in a single period this season. The team also allowed three goals in the third period.

Yet, the Devils bounced back in the second period and recorded four unanswered goals on Wednesday vs Washington, and three were recorded in 2:11.
