CAROLINA HURRICANES NOTES:

GAME ONE
The Hurricanes earned a 2-1 win over the Islanders at PNC Arena on 4/17. Sebastian Aho scored Carolina’s first goal on the power play, and Stefan Noesen added a second power-play goal in his Hurricanes playoff debut as Brent Burns (2a) and Martin Necas (2a) registered all four assists. Antti Raanta stopped 25 of 26 shots faced, improving to 7-0 on home ice in his Hurricanes playoff career.

GAME TWO
Carolina posted a 4-3 overtime win against New York at PNC Arena on 4/19, winning its fifth straight playoff overtime game on Jesper Fast’s first career overtime goal. Brent Burns (2a) and Jaccob Slavin (1g, 1a) tallied two points, Paul Stastny scored his first Hurricanes playoff goal and Stefan Noesen scored his second power-play goal in as many games. Antti Raanta made 23 saves in net.

GAME THREE
The Hurricanes suffered a 5-1 loss against the Islanders at UBS Arena on 4/21, losing their eighth straight road playoff game dating back to Game 4 of the 2021 Second Round. Jesper Fast scored a shorthanded goal with a primary assist from Jordan Staal, while Antti Raanta stopped 32 of 36 shots faced in net.

GAME FOUR
Carolina registered a 5-2 win over New York at UBS Arena on 4/23, ending an eight-game road playoff losing streak. Sebastian Aho posted a team-high three points (1g, 2a), Seth Jarvis scored two goals and Mackenzie MacEachern recorded two points (1g, 1a) in his Hurricanes debut, the first playoff points of his NHL career. Stefan Noesen also tallied two power-play assists on goals by Jarvis and Martin Necas, as Antti Raanta stopped 27 of 29 shots to earn his first career road playoff win.

GAME FIVE
The Hurricanes suffered a 3-2 loss against the Islanders at PNC Arena on 4/25.
