* Claude Giroux captained the Metropolitan Division to the $1 million prize at the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Game, claiming MVP honors along the way.
* A mix of young and old finished as the top scorers in the 3-on-3 tournament as Jordan Kyrou (2-3—5) led all players with five points, edging Claude Giroux (3-1—4), Jack Hughes (3-1—4) and Joe Pavelski (2-2—4).
* The NHL Morning Skate will return on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 8, following Monday’s two-game slate that will see Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner look to extend his goal streak to eight games.

MVP GIROUX LIFTS METROPOLITAN DIVISION TO ALL-STAR VICTORY
Flyers veteran Claude Giroux notched 3-1—4 across two games, including a pair of goals in the final, to help the Metropolitan Division claim its third NHL All-Star Game championship, tying the Pacific Division for the most under the 3-on-3 format and continuing the rotating cycle of winners: Pacific (2016), Metropolitan (2017), Pacific (2018), Metropolitan (2019), Pacific (2020) and Metropolitan (2022).

* Giroux upped his career totals to eight All-Star goals (five under the 3-on-3 format), which is the most ever by a Flyers player – John LeClair, Eric Lindros, Brian Propp, Wayne Simmonds and Jakub Voracek each had three while representing the club.
* Giroux, who became the sixth-oldest player to earn NHL All-Star MVP honors, is the third player to do so while representing Philadelphia (also Simmonds in 2017 and Reggie Leach in 1980). He was representing the Flyers at an NHL All-Star Game for the seventh time – only Bobby Clarke (8) has made more appearances in the event for the Flyers.

YOUNG AND OLD LEAVE THEIR MARK IN LAS VEGAS
The top scorers at the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Game featured a mix of young and not-as-young, with 23-year-old Jordan Kyrou topping all players with 2-3—5 across two games, followed by four-point showings by 20-year-old Jack Hughes (3-1—4) and veterans Claude Giroux (3-1—4; age 34) and Joe Pavelski (2-2—4; age 37).
* Kyrou has stolen the spotlight in each of the NHL’s two tentpole events in 2022 – he set an outdoor game record with four points in the Winter Classic on New Year’s Day and Saturday netted 2-3—5 overall in his All-Star debut. Kyrou’s total included 2-2—4 in the semifinal, one point shy of the most in a single game under the 3-on-3 format and the fourth time a Blues player had as many points in an All-Star Game.
* Hughes (20 years, 267 days) became the youngest Devils player to score in an NHL All-Star Game (tied) and the sixth player under age 21 to score multiple goals in the event (any format). Hughes became the second-youngest player to be part of the winning team under the 3-on-3 All-Star format, behind brother Quinn Hughes who won with the Pacific Division in 2020 at age 20 years, 103 days.

* After scoring an empty-net goal in the semifinal, Pavelski (age 37) again tallied in the final. The Central Division captain became the third player in the last 17 years to score a goal in an All-Star Game at age 37 or older, joining Jaromir Jagr (2016: 1-0—1 at age 43) and Daniel Alfredsson (2012: 2-1—3 at age 39).
WILSON SCORES EARLY, FIRST-TIME ALL-STARS SCORE OFTEN
Tom Wilson scored 13 seconds into his first NHL All-Star Game, the fastest goal to start a game under the 3-on-3 format (besting the previous mark of 15 seconds set by Sidney Crosby in the 2019 semifinal). Wilson was one of 11 first-time All-Stars to score Saturday, the most ever in one year – the previous high was 10, seen in 2020 and 2017.

* ICYMI: Connor McDavid and Machine Gun Kelly met prior to the 2022 NHL All-Star Game. Machine Gun Kelly performed between the semifinals and the final while artist/DJ/producer Zedd opened the All-Star Game with a performance during player introductions.

MARNER AIMS FOR LONGEST GOAL STREAK OF 2021-22 ON MONDAY
The NHL returns from 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend on Monday with a pair of games in Ontario, Canada including the Hurricanes visiting the Maple Leafs in a contest that will see Mitch Marner look to extend his career-high goal streak to eight games – which would be the longest by any player in 2021-22.
* If Marner is able to extend his goal streak to eight games, he would become the fourth Maple Leafs skater to post a goal streak of that length in the modern era (since 1943-44), joining John Anderson (10 GP in 1984-85), Darryl Sittler (9 GP in 1977-78) and Lorne Carr (9 GP in 1943-44).
