TONIGHTS STORYLINES & STATS
This is the fourth and final matchup this season between the Flames and Golden Knights. The Flames have claimed five of a possible six points against the Knights so far this season. This is a Pacific Division matchup; The Flames have an overall record of 11-5-3 against Pacific Division opponents this season and a record of 20-13-7 against Western Conference opponents.

FLAMES VERSUS THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS THIS SEASON:
The Calgary Flames and Vegas Golden Knights get set to square off for the fourth and final time this season, with the Flames holding a 2-0-1 record against their Pacific Division opponent. Their first meeting came in October with the Flames erasing an early two-goal deficit to come back and win 3-2 with goals from Elias Lindholm, Tyler Toffoli, and Blake Coleman. In their second meeting, the Flames got goals from Jakob Pelletier, Jonathan Huberdeau and Mikael Backlund. Vegas would be the team to comeback in this game however, as they rallied late with Alex Pietrangelo scoring the overtime winner. In their most recent meeting a week ago, the Flames exercised their T-Mobile Arena demons and won their first game on the road in Vegas with a 7-2 triumph. Mikael Backlund scored for the third-straight game against the Golden Knights, while Blake Coleman and Tyler Toffoli had multi-goal games with Toffoli recording four points on the night. Dillon Dube and MacKenzie Weegar also found the back of the net for the Flames.

QUICK HITS:
Tyler Toffoli recorded three assists on Tuesday in Anaheim for just the second time in his career (Oct. 26, 2014 vs. CBJ) and has now recorded points in four straight games. Andrew Mangiapane scored a slick breakaway finish for his 14th of the season. Every skater on the Flames recorded at least one shot on goal, with all five goals coming from five different skaters. All but three skaters on the Flames were a +1 on Tuesday and Mikael Backlund recorded his 301st and 302nd NHL assists.

• Tonight’s game is also the first of two consecutive games the Kraken will play against the Predators in Nashville. It marks the third time in franchise history that the Kraken are facing the same team in back-to-back games in the same location. They played the Kings in two-straight games in Los Angeles last season on March 26 and 28, 2022 and played the Stars in back-to-back games in Seattle on March 11 and 13.

• Tonight’s game is the second of a four-game road trip in which all four games will be played against Central Division teams. It is the 18th of 25 games the Kraken will play against Central Division teams this season, with Seattle holding an 9-3-5 record against the Central Division this year.

• A win tonight would give the Kraken four consecutive victories against the Predators. Seattle holds a 3-1-0 all-time record against Nashville.

• Vince Dunn, who has already set a career high with 57 points (13 goals, 44 assists) this season, enters tonight’s game as the Kraken’s leading scorer. He was ranked in the top 15 among all NHL defensemen in goals (tied eighth), assists (11th), points (11th), even-strength goals (13, tied second) and even-strength points (42, third) entering play Wednesday. • Entering play Wednesday, Jared McCann (1.90) was leading the NHL in goals-per-60 at five-on-five this season among players that have played in at least 12 games this year.

• With the Kraken’s four-goal outing in their game on March 3 against Columbus, they surpassed their goal total from all of last season in 20 fewer games. Seattle has scored 245 goals in 70 games this season compared to 213 goals in 2021-22. The team’s 245 goals this season were tied for the sixth-most in the NHL entering play Wednesday.

• Jordan Eberle’s goal in the Kraken’s game on March 3 at Columbus was his 50th point of the season. It is the sixth time in his career and first time since 2017-18 that Eberle has recorded 50 or more points in a season.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Kraken defeated the Stars 5-4 in overtime in their last game on March 21 in Dallas, extending their road winning streak to six games and improving their 2022-23 record to 39-24-7.

• Five players recorded multi-point efforts: Jared McCann (one goal, one assist), Adam Larsson (one goal, one assist), Carson Soucy (two assists), Daniel Sprong (one goal, one assist) and Brandon Tanev (two goals, one assist). • Morgan Geekie tied his career high in both assists (15) and points (22) with an assist on Tanev’s second goal.

• With 25 saves, Joey Daccord won his second game as a member of the Kraken after being recalled the previous day from Coachella Valley (AHL) on an emergency basis.

ROAD WARRIORS
• The Kraken have posted an 23-9-3 record while playing on the road this season. The team’s 23 road wins have more than doubled their total from last season (11) despite the team still having six road games left to play this season.

NBA Preview: Oklahoma City Thunder (36-36) at Los Angeles Clippers (38-35)

0

When the Los Angeles Clippers play their final two games against the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, they will be without All-Star forward Paul George.

After leaving Tuesday’s 101-100 loss to the Thunder in the fourth quarter with an apparent injury to his right leg, George will likely miss the remainder of the regular season.

George will be re-evaluated in two to three weeks after receiving a diagnosis of a sprained right knee.

With nine games remaining, the Clippers (38-35) are fifth in the Western Conference. Without George, who is averaging 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists, the team’s depth will undoubtedly be put to the test.

Los Angeles will need to heavily rely on role players like Eric Gordon, Robert Covington, and Bones Hyland to fill the void left by George’s absence.

Before its loss to the Thunder on Tuesday, Los Angeles had won five of its previous six games. George finished with 18 points in the loss, which came to an end when Leonard couldn’t get a shot in the last few seconds.

Oklahoma City (36-36) entered Wednesday’s game as the seventh seed in the Western Conference and had won all three of its previous encounters with the Clippers.

The Thunder have been practicing alert with point watch Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who passed on the second round of two back-to-backs recently while recuperating from a stomach strain. The All-Star might be available on Thursday, according to Mark Daigneault, the coach.

On Tuesday, Gilgeous-Alexander defeated his former team by scoring 31 points, while forward Jalen Williams added 20.

In their victory on Tuesday, Oklahoma City employed a balanced attack that resulted in ten players scoring points. In 11 games this month, guard Isaiah Joe has scored 12 points and is averaging 10.1 points.

In addition, Daigneault turned to center Olivier Sarr, who played a season-high 19 minutes and contributed four points and six rebounds. The second-year professional played against Clippers center Ivica Zubac and played over Dario Saric and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.

Oklahoma City has won five of six and shows up strategically situated to guarantee a season finisher spot, however Daigneault likewise has his group’s drawn out objectives as a top priority.
