Both the Indiana Pacers and the Charlotte Hornets are attempting a lot of things.
When these two teams meet on Monday night in Charlotte, N.C., they might try out additional lineup combinations. Both teams are looking to the future as they try to build a stronger foundation and pick up some good vibes at the end of the season.
Despite the fact that the Pacers (32-39) haven’t lost back-to-back games in more than a month, neither team is in the running for the playoffs.
During this five-game homestand, the Hornets (22-50) face the possibility of going 0-5 for the season.
Jordan Nwora, a forward who joined the Pacers in a trade and has appeared in 13 games, is a part of the team’s learning process. He played for Milwaukee for his first two and a half seasons.
Nwora, according to Carlisle, can move up a level.
Both the Pacers and the Hornets are coming off crushing defeats against the Philadelphia 76ers. On Friday, the Pacers suffered a 121-82 defeat, and on Saturday, they suffered a 141-121 defeat.
Both the Hornets and the Pacers won’t be able to stop 76ers center Joel Embiid, so both teams will be trying to bounce back from their losses in the lane.
In the Philadelphia matchup, Indiana’s Aaron Nesmith scored a career-high 25 points.
When Charlotte was up against the 76ers, it faced a variety of issues. Terry Rozier led the team with 14 points despite the offensive inconsistency. That was the Hornets’ season-low team-leading score.
The team’s total of 82 points was also a season low.
For the Hornets, Kai Jones scored a career-high ten points. In his career, he has appeared in 58 games.
The Bucks’ final game with Nwora was against Charlotte. In that game, he scored two points in six minutes, but in a win over Charlotte in December, he scored 17 points in 32 minutes. Even though he has scored at least 18 points in three games for Indiana, that was his second-highest point total this season with the Bucks.
Tyrese Haliburton scored a team-high 17 points in Indiana’s victory over Charlotte on November 16 by a score of 125-113. Haliburton will not play Monday night because he has been out with a knee injury for the past week.
