The worst start to a season continued for the Colorado Rapids with a 2-0 loss at Orland City SC on June 10. The Vancouver Whitecaps FC are winless in 15 straight away matches (D7 L8) dating back to last July, including losing the last three in a row away from home. The Vancouver Whitecaps FC have had only one longer winless run away from home in regular season play, going winless in the club’s first 17 away matches in its inaugural 2011 season.
Both Braian Galvan and Lalas Abubakar were sent off for the Colorado Rapids in their loss to Orlando City SC, the eighth time in club history that two Colorado Rapids players were sent off in an MLS match. The Colorado Rapids have received 10 red cards since the start of the season, tied for the most in MLS in that time (Houston Dynamo FC).
After going 13 straight games without scoring, including 12 straight to start the season, Ryan Gauld has scored in three straight MLS matches for the first time in his career. Only one Vancouver Whitecaps FC player since the start of the 2015 season has scored in four straight league games: Lucas Cavallini last May-June.
