MLS Preview: Vancouver Whitecaps FC (11-10-8) at Colorado Rapids (4-15-10)

The home side has managed to win only four of the last 15 meetings between the Colorado Rapids and Vancouver Whitecaps FC (2 home wins each). The Colorado Rapids recorded a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps FC at home in 2022, ending a five-match winless run against them at Dicks Sporting Goods Stadium (D2 L3).

The Colorado Rapids have lost seven its last eight matches in all competitions (W1) and now has just two wins in its last 21 games in all competitions (D4 L15) dating back to mid-May.

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC will play their seventh straight away match in Colorado on Wednesday, having lost the last two after going unbeaten in the first four (W3 D1). The Vancouver Whitecaps FC haven’t played a home match since August 20.

Diego Rubio recorded a goal and assist for the Colorado Rapids against the Portland Timbers on Saturday, the second Colorado Rapids player with a goal and an assist in a match this season, along with Danny Wilson, who did so against Real Salt Lake in May.

Brian White scored his 12th goal of the regular season on Saturday, equaling his career high set in 2021. White is just the second player in the Vancouver Whitecaps FC MLS history to record multiple 12-goal seasons, after Camilo Sanvezzo (12 in 2011, 22 in 2013).
