MLS Preview: Toronto FC (3-5-10) at FC Cincinnati (12-1-4)

FC Cincinnati has won four of its last five matches against Toronto FC (L1), including completing the double over the Toronto Reds FC last season. Toronto FC had won each of the first three meetings between the sides in the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

FC Cincinnati has won its first 12 home matches of the season in all competitions, equaling the longest all-competitions home winning streak to open a season by an MLS team (San Jose Earthquakes – 2002). FC Cincinnati had won 13 of its first 62 home matches in all competitions (D18 L31) before winning the last 12 straight.

Toronto FC is winless in its last 11 road matches (D4 L7) and has won only two of its last 33 away MLS matches dating back to August 2021 (D10 L21). The Toronto Reds FC have been shut out in more than half (17) of those away matches, including failing to to score in four of the last six on the road.

Vazquez – 6 straight in 2022).Acosta has recorded 37 goal contributions in home matches for FC Cincinnati (16 goals, 21 assists), 15 more than any other player in team history.

Lorenzo Insigne has been involved in each of Toronto FC’s last four goals ( goals, 2 assists), including scoring in each of the last two matches. Insigne last scored in three consecutive league matches in September 2018 with Napoli in Serie A.
