FC Dallas ended a five-match winless run against Real Salt Lake on July 23 with a 1-0- away win. RSL is unbeaten in four straight matches in Dallas (W1 D3) after avoiding defeat just three times in their first 17 visits (W1 D2 L14, including playoffs).
FC Dallas’ 4-0loss at Nashville on Sunday was its heaviest defeat in nearly three years, since a 4-0 defeat in Chicago in September 2019. Dallas has suffered consecutive losses only once this season, losing to Vancouver and Minnesota in May.
Real Salt Lake has won only two of its last 10 matches(D4 L4) dating back to late June. Since that run began, no team has won fewer games and only two teams have taken fewer points than RSL’s 10 (Houston, D.C. United – 8 each).
Jesus Ferreira has scored nine goals at Toyota Park this MLS season, including finding the net three times in his last two home matches. The only player in the last 12 seasons to score 10 goals at homes in a single regular season for FC Dallas was Roland Lamah in 2017.
Four of Real Salt Lake’s last five MLS goals, including Sergio Cordova’s strike against Vancouver on Saturday, have been scored by Venezuelans. The pair of Cordova and Jefferson Savarino have scored mine of RSL’s last 15 MLS goals, while Savarino has assisted on three of the other six in that time.
