The Brazilian became the first San Jose Earthquakes player to save penalty in a shutout since Daniel Vega did so against the Portland Timbers in April 2019.
Julian Carranza notched his third brace in MLS play this season (and fourth in all competitions in 2023) in the Philadelphia Union’s win over the CF Montreal Impact. No other MLS player has more than two multi-goal league games this season.
