MLS Preview: New York City FC (4-7-5) at Real Salt Lake (5-7-4)

Real Salt Lake has won all three of its home matches against New York City FC, with the last meeting at America First Field coming in 2019, a 3-1 Real Salt Lake victory. Real Salt Lake is the only team New York City FC has played three or more away matches against without ever collecting a point.

It was the first regular-season multi-goal game by a Real Salt Lake player since the start of the 2022 season as Real Salt Lake were the only team without one in that time.

Gabriel Pereira attempted six shots, hitting three on target, in New York City FC’s draw with the New England Revolution on Saturday. Over New York City FC’s last four matches, Pereira has attempted 17 shots and hit 10 on target. No other New York City FC player has taken more than five shots or hit more than three on target in that time.
