Djordie Petrovic saved his league-leading third penalty of the new year in New England’s scoreless draw with the Fire. Only one player since 2010, Nick Rimando (4) for Real Salt Lake in 2014, has saved more than three penalties in a single regular season.
New York City FC has struggled when allowing goals this season, winning only three of 15 matches in which its conceded a goal in 2022 (D3 L9). Ten of NYCFC’s 13 wins this season have come in games in which it kept a clean sheet.
