MLS Preview: Nashville SC (11-7-5) at FC Cincinnati (14-2-6)

FC Cincinnati earned its first win over Nashville SC on march 25, a 1-0 victory at GEODIS Park. Nashville SC was unbeaten in its first four matches against FC Cincinnati (W2 D2) and has never lost on the road against FC Cincinnati (W1 D1).

FC Cincinnati has only lost one of its last 22 regular-season home matches dating back to late June last year (W14 D7). FC Cincinnati has scored at least once in 27 straight home matches, the longest active streak in MLS and tied for the 10th-longest streak in MLS history.

Nashville SC has lost four of its last five matches (W1), including two in a row, after a 10-match unbeaten run in league play. Nashville SC has never lost three straight MLS matches in club history, following its first six single-season two-match losing streaks with a win in the following match each time.

FC Cincinnati came from behind to beat the New York Red Bulls, 2-1, in Harrison on Wednesday, with goals in the 80th and 93rd minutes. It was FC Cincinnati’s first-ever win after trailing in the 79th minute or later in MLS play after managing just three draws in the club’s first 73 such matches.

Hany Mukhtar has been held without a goal in five straight MLS matches, managing just one shot on target in each of those games. Mukhtar hasn’t gone six straight league games in a single season without scoring since a six-match run without a goal to begin the 2022 season.
