MLS Preview: Los Angeles Football Club (9-4-5) at FC Dallas (7-7-5)

The Los Angeles Football Club FC defeated FC Dallas, 2-1, at BMO Stadium on March 25, its fourth win in its last last five meetings with FC Dallas (L1). The Los Angeles Football Club FC has won five of nine all-time meetings with FC Dallas (D2 L2), but only one of those wins came in Dallas (D1 L2).

After losing only three of its first 14 MLS matches this season, FC Dallas has lost four of its last five (W1). Only of those four defeats have come at home, however, as FC Dallas has won five of its last eight at Toyota Stadium (D2 L1) in league play.

The Los Angeles Football Club FC has lost six of its last nine matches in all competitions (W2 L1) following a 3-2 defeat to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday. The reigning MLS Cup champions had suffered just two defeats in their first 19 matches in all competitions this season (W11 D6).

FC Dallas has gone consecutive MLS matches without scoring for the first time in nearly two years, since August 2021. FC Dallas has played three straight league games without scoring just once in the last seven years, doing so in August 2020.

Denis Bouanga and Carlos Vela scored Los Angeles Football Club FC’s two goals in its defeat to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday. Bouanga and Vela have combined to score 17 of Los Angeles Football Club FC’s 28 MLS goals this season, but Saturday marked with the first time all year that both players scored in the same match.
