Los Angeles Football Club has won its last two matches against San Jose, including a 3-2 win on May 28, both at home. The Earthquakes have won last their three home games against LAFC as only Vancouver (4 straight from 2019-present) has won more than three homes games in a row against LAFC in MLS.
San Jose’s 4-1 loss at Dallas marked the ninth time its allowed at least three goals in a match this season, tied for most in MLS (Vancouver). Since the start of last season, the ‘Quakes have allowed three or more goals 18 times whiles keeping less than half the number of clean sheets (7).
Los Angeles FC’s 1-0 win over D.C. United on Tuesday was its club record seventh consecutive win. in fact, since the breakaway shootout was abolished in 2000, there has been just one longer winning streak in MLS: Seattle – 9 straight in July-September 2018.
Jeremy Ebobisse has scored six goals against LAFC in his MLS career, including finding the net twice in the May 28 victory. Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic (9, including playoffs) has scored more MLS goals against LAFC.
Kwadwo Opoku came off the bench to score LAFC’s lone goal on Tuesday against D.C. United. It was the 15 goal scored by an LAFC substitute this season, tied for third-most in a single regular season in MLS history behind only D.C. United (16 in 2016) and Colorado (19 in 1998.)
