MLS Preview: Inter Miami FC (2-6-0) at Columbus Crew SC (4-3-2)

The home side has won each of the first four meetings between the Columbus Crew SC and Inter Miami FC, with the Crew outscoring the Herons, 5-0, in the two meetings in Columbus, Ohio. the only goal scored by a road team over the four meetings was a Cucho Hernandez header in a 2-1 Inter Miami FC win last September.

The Columbus Crew SC are unbeaten in 10 straight home MLS matches (W6 D4), including winning three of four at Lower.com Field this season (D1). This is the ninth home unbeaten run of 10 or more regular season home games in the Crew’s history, more such streaks than any other MLS team.

Inter Miami FC has lost each off its first four away matches his season, failing to score in all of them. The only team in MLS history to lose its first five road matches of a season without scoring in any of them is the CF Montreal Impact, who has done so this season.

Lucas Zelarayan has been involved in five goals (3 goals, 2 assists) in three home matches this season. Zelarayan has never recorded a goal against Inter Miami FC, the only MLS team he’s faced more than once without recording at least one goal contribution (including playoffs).

Inter Miami FC’s 1-0 defeat at the Houston Dynamo Fc on Saturday was its sixth consecutive loss, including its third straight by a 1-0 scoreline. No team in MLS history has lost four consecutive matches 1-0.
