MLS Preview: Houston Dynamo FC (8-15-5) at Seattle Sounders FC (10-15-3)

Seattle has never lost a home match against the Dynamo in MLS play(W10 D3, including playoffs). The 13 visits without winning for Houston is the second-most road games against a single opponent without ever winning MLS history, San Jose’s 16 visits to Portland without ever recording a victory.

The Sounders fell 3-2 to Orlando on Wednesday despite holding a 2-0 lead. It was the second time the Sounders lost a match in which they led by multiple goals this season (W5 D0 L2) after entering 2022 having never lost when leading by two or more goals (W127 D1 L0 including playoffs).

After entering the match on a six-game winless streak (D1 L5), Houston delivered a 2-1 win over Los Angeles Football Club on Wednesday. The Dynamo scored in both halves of a match for the first time since their 3-0 victory against the Galaxy on May 22, a gap of 14 games.

Albert Rusnak scored his third goal of the season in Seattle’s loss to Orlando with two of them having come in his last four games. Dating back to last season with Real Salt Lake, Rusnak’s teams have failed to win of the last five games in which he has scored (D1 L4).

Griffin Dorsey scored the game-winning goal against LAFC, giving him a goal contribution for a second consecutive match after an assist against Minnesota on Sunday. Dorsey had one total goal contribution over his previous 24 MLS matches, dating back to last season.
