MLS Preview: FC Dallas (7-6-5) at Austin FC (5-8-4)

FC Dallas is unbeaten in six all-time meetings with Austin FC (W4 D2), including a 1-0 away win on May 13. The victory was one of just three road wins in 31 meetings between Texas teams in regular season play since the start of the 2017 season.

Austin FC has lost consecutive regular season matches for the first time since a three-match streak last August-September and has won only three of its last 14 MLS matches (D4 L7) dating back to mid-March. Only three teams (Colorado Rapids, Los Angeles Galaxy, Inter Miami FC) have fewer points than Austin FC’s 13 in that time.

Jesus Ferreira scored the games’ only goal in FC Dallas’ 1-0 win over Austin FC on May 13. the goal was Ferreira’s fifth against Austin FC, the most by any player against the Austin FC Verde in MLS play, and the second-most Ferreira has scored against any opponent in his MLS career (6 vs Sporting Kansas City).
