Colorado has won seven of its last nine home matches against the Crew (D1 L1), including playoff victories in 2010 and 2011. Overall, Columbus has just four wins in 24 all-time MLS visits to Colorado.

Colorado followed its 5-4 win over the Red Bulls with a 4-3 victory against Minnesota on Saturday, the first time in club history that the Rapids have scored nine goals in a two-match span. The 16 combined goals over two matches is only bettered by Dallas and the Galaxy, who were each involved in 17 goals in a two game span during the 1998 season.

The Crew are unbeaten in five straight away matches (W3 D2), collecting 11 points in those games. Columbus has gone unbeaten in six or more straight road games in a single season only once before, going nine in a row without a loss in July-October 2004 with the last of those a 1-1 draw at Colorado.

Diego Rubio scored the second of Colorado’s four goals on Saturday. Rubio has a career-high 17 goal contributions this season (11 goals, 6 assists) and has been involved in a goal in seven straight MLS matches, tied for the longest streak in the league this season (S. Driussi, L. Acosta).

Lucas Zelarayán was involved in all three Crew goals against NYCFC on Saturday (2 goals, 1 assist). Zelarayán has been involved in 11 of the Crew’s last 12 MLS goals, including the last eight in a row.
