MLS Preview: Columbus Crew SC (10-6-4) at Inter Miami FC (5-13-1)

Inter Miami FC ended its seven-match losing streak with its first draw of the season, 1-1 , against Austin FC on Saturday. That ended a run of 28 straight regular-season matches without a draw for Inter Miami FC, the second-longest streak in the post-shootout era (CF Montreal Impact – 41 straight from 2017-2018).

Columbus Crew SC have won five of its last six matches (D1) following a 2-1 win over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday. Only of those five wins has come on the road, however, as the Columbus Crew SC have w on just two of their last 16 regular-season away matches since mid-July (D7 L7).

Josef Martinez scored his fifth goal of the season in Inter Miami FC’s 1-1 draw with Austin FC on Saturday. It was Martinez’s first goal against Austin FC, the 27th different team he’s scored against in his MLS career, surpassing Kei Kamara and Ola Kamara (26 each) for the most in MLS history.

Cucho Hernandez had a goal and an assist in the Columbus Crew SC’s win over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday. Hernandez has been involved in 13 goals in his last 11 matches (5 goals, 8 assists), second only to Hany Mukhtar (15) in MLS since that run began in late April.
