The Revolution have suffered back-to-back losses after losing just two of their previous 17 league games (W6 D9). New England has conceded eight goals in its last three matches (L1 D2) after keeping four consecutive clean sheets (W2 D2).
The Fire have lost three straight matches following a 2-0 home loss to CF Montreal on Saturday. In the 13 matches in which Chicago has conceded two or more goals, its collected just four points (W1 D1 L11), while it has 26 points in the 14 matches in which its held opponents under two goals (W7 D5 L2).
Carles Gil scored New England’s lone goal from outside the box in its 2-1 defeat to the Galaxy on Sunday. Four of Gil’s six non-penalty goals since the start of last season have been scored from outside the box after just one of his first seven MLS goals (including playoffs) came from outside the area.
Chicago has failed to score in its last two matches, both 2-0 home defeats. The Fire have gone three or more matches without a goal on five separate occasions since the start of the season, though haven’t done so since a four-match goalless run in April.
