BIG SEXY: Last night, the Mets announced that RHP Bartolo Colón, a member of the 2015 National League championship team, will officially retire as a member of the Mets on Sunday, September 17 in a press conference prior to the 1:40 p.m. game vs. Cincinnati…The first 15,000 fans attending the September 17 game will receive a Bartolo Colón “Big Sexy” long sleeve shirt.

THE ONE GOES TO 11: Jeff McNeil has safely reached base in 11 straight games…Over the streak that started on July 16, McNeil is batting .310 (13- 42) with six runs, three doubles, seven RBI with two walks and has posted a .383 OBP…He has safely hit in six of his last seven games, batting .370 (10-27) with four runs, two doubles, five RBI, one walks with a .433 OBP and a .444 SLG.

CONNECT FOUR: Pete Alonso recorded his 29th and 30th home runs of the season in last night’s victory…He joins Mike Piazza as the only Met ever to have four seasons of 30 or more home runs…Last night was his third multi-home run game of the season and the 17th of his career…His 17 multi-homer games since 2019 are tied with Kyle Schwarber for the second-most during that span…Alonso’s 17 career multi-homer games are tied third-most in franchise history with Mike Piazza (17) and Carlos Beltran (17)…Only Darryl Strawberry (22) and David Wright (21) have more.

His 1.069 OPS against the Nationals is the sixth-best all-time.

allowing four hits and five walks while striking out five batters…Throughout his career against Washington, Carrasco has pitched to a 3.94 ERA (14 ER/32.0 IP) and holds a 2-2 record…Carrasco holds a 1-2 record with a 4.82 ERA (10 ER/18.2 IP) at home compared to a 1-0 record and a 2.70 ERA (4 ER/13.1 IP) when on the
road.
