- Starter Blake Snell worked 6.0 scoreless innings with just 2 hits allowed and 3 walks…he earned his 2nd win of the year (now 2-6) with 8 punchouts…Snell finished his start riding a 16.0 scoreless inning streak, the 3rd-longest of his career.
- San Diego batters went 2-for-7 with RISP, and Manny Machado collected his 1st 3-hit effort since May 7 vs. LAD (11 game span) and his 4th this season.
When scoring 2 or fewer & when scoring 4 or more
- When the Friars plate 2 or fewer runs in a game, they are 1-23 (.042) this year, the lowest winning percentage in baseball when scoring 2 or fewer runs…they also have played 24 games in which they scored 2 or fewer, and the A’s are the only team this year with more such games (32).
- When the Padres score 4-or-more runs, they are 26-4 (.867), the 2nd-best winning percentage in MLB when scoring 4+ runs…they trail just the Brewers’ 28-4 (.875) when scoring 4 or more (Sportstrader).
