LEADING OFF: Today, the Angels play the ninth (5-3) and final game on the first homestand of the second half of the season against the Houston Astros (1-2), New York Yankees (3-0) and Pittsburgh Pirates (1-1; July 21- 23)…Angels went 0-5 on last road trip before the break against the Padres (0-3) and Dodgers (0-2)… Halos went 3-4 on last homestand against the White Sox (2-2) and Diamondbacks (1-2).

THROWBACK WEEKEND: As part of Throwback Weekend, former Angels infielder Doug DeCinces is scheduled to throw a First Pitch prior to the game.

HOME RUN LEADERS: Angels rank third in the Majors and lead the American League with 151 home runs this season.

LEAGUE LEADER: As a hitter, Shohei Ohtani leads the Majors in triples (7), home runs (35), total bases (246), XBH (58), slugging percentage (.668) and OPS (1.065)… On the mound, he also leads the Majors in opponent batting average (.195) and is fourth in strikeouts (148). THE MICK: Mickey Moniak is currently on a career-high 13-game hit streak and is batting .389 (21/54) during that span (since July 2)…The streak is also the longest active hit streak in the Majors.

STREAKS SNAPPED: Angels had four game win streak snapped last night with 3-0 loss to Pirates…With the shutout loss, the Halos franchise record 19 game streak hitting at least one home run was also snapped.

VS. PITTSBURGH: The series marks the first meetings between the clubs since Aug. 12-14, 2019 when Pittsburgh won two of three games at The Big A…All-time series is tied 10-10.

INTERLEAGUE PLAY: LAA owns a 273-241 (.531) all-time Interleague record (12-18 in 2023)…The 273 Interleague wins are third most all time behind Red Sox (302) and Yankees (296). MONDAY MAGIC: The Angels earned their fourth walk-off win of the season Monday night vs. NYY on an RBI single by Michael Stefanic in the 10th inning.
