- The Braves beat the Yankees, 11-3, last night to take the series-opener.
- Atlanta went 1-3 in four games between the teams in 2021, and the Braves have not won the season set with New York since 2001…In the now eight seasons they have played since then, starting in 2006, Atlanta is 9-18 (.333) against New York and has gone 0-6-1 in season sets.
- The Braves are just 17-26 (.395) all-time against New York since the advent of interleague play in 1997, their worst record against any A.L. team in that span (min. 15 games – Atlanta is 4-9, .308, against Houston since the Astros changed leagues)…The Braves and Yankees have met four times in the World Series, with Atlanta going 1-3 in these sets…The Milwaukee Braves won the title in 1957, before the Yankees won in 1958, 1996 and 1999.

- The Braves opened a nine-game homestand with last night’s game, and improved to 38-20 (.655) here at Truist Park this season…That is tied with the Dodgers for the best home record in the N.L., and trails just the Rangers (41-20, .672) for best in baseball.
- Four Atlanta players – Ronald Acuña Jr, Michael Harris II, Matt Olson and Marcell Ozuna – drew multiple walks in the game…The last time four Braves contributed multi-walk performances was April 10, 2016, when Gordon Beckham, Tyler Flowers, Freddie Freeman and Adonis García each drew multiple free passes.
ROSTER MOVES: The Braves today recalled INF Vaughn Grissom and OF Luke Williams to Atlanta, placed INF Ozzie Albies on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring, and optioned OF Forrest Wall to Triple-A Gwinnett.
- Grissom was recalled with a 36-game on-base streak with Triple-A Gwinnett that dates to June 28, during which he batted .351/.467/.545 with 17 multi-hit games.
- He is hitting .327/.412/.494 with a .906 OPS on the season, and his 32 doubles are just three short of tying Gwinnett’s single-season record of 35.
- Williams, who Atlanta claimed off waivers from the Dodgers on June 5, is a career .234/.291/.306 batter over parts of three major league seasons…In 48 games with the Stripers after being acquired, he batted .251 (47-for-187) with six homers.
BOTTOM OF THE LINEUP: Atlanta’s 7-8-9 hitters last night – Eddie Rosario, Orlando Arcia & Nicky Lopez – combined to go 7-for-14 with five runs, a double, a homer and eight RBI.
