ROSTER MOVE: Yesterday, RHP Elieser Hernández was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse and placed on the 15-Day IL with a right pec strain.

VERLANDER HORIZON: Since give up six earned runs on May 27 in Colorado, Justin Verlander has pitched to a 2.72 ERA (16 ER/52.0 IP) with 20 walks and 48 strikeouts over his last nine starts…Over the last five starts, Verlander is 2-1 with a 1.74 ERA (6 ER/31.0 IP) with 13 walks and 26 strikeouts.

YANKEE DOODLE: Verlander will make his second start this season against the Yankees tonight…The righty tossed 6.0 innings and allowed one earned run on three hits and struck out six on June 14 at Citi Field…Overall, Verlander is set to make his 25th career start against the Yankees…He is 9-7 a 3.37 ERA (57 ER/152.1 IP) with 43 walks and 144 strikeouts life time against the Yankees… Verlander has made seven regular starts against the Yankees since 2016 and is 4-0 with a 1.90 ERA (10 ER/47.1 IP) with six walks and 48 strikeouts.
