ATLANTA BRAVES NOTES:

Matt Olson drove a 3-0 first-inning pitch out to left-center yesterday afternoon for the sixth grand slam of his career. Atlanta leads the majors with three homers, two doubles and 11 RBI in 3-0 counts this season, and its five total hits in such situations is tied with San Francisco for most in baseball. The Braves have had 119 total plate appearances reach a 3-0 count this season and have swung 25 times (21%), most in the majors. Eight of these swings have put the ball in play, and Atlanta is batting .625/.926/2.000 with a 2.926 OPS in 3-0 counts for the year.

TODAY’S GAME: The Braves and Rockies today conclude a four-game weekend series with the fourth of seven total games between the clubs this season…. Atlanta and Colorado will next meet for three games at Coors Field, August 28-30.
